Overview

The Eaton EBP‑1001 is a sealed lead‑acid battery pack designed as a direct internal replacement battery cartridge (RBC) for select Eaton 5P and 5PX UPS systems. It is deployed by IT engineers and data center technicians to restore runtime capability when the original UPS battery reaches end of service life or shows degraded performance. This battery pack addresses the need for dependable standby power when facing power interruptions.

This unit supports standard 12 V DC output and is engineered to be installed inside compatible Eaton UPS models to reestablish nominal runtime capacity. It does not provide additional VA capacity beyond the original UPS rating but ensures that the UPS can continue to support connected loads for its designed runtime.

The EBP‑1001 fits 1 kVA to 1.5 kVA rack/tower UPS models used in rack mount (2U) or small server room environments, such as branch office IT closets or edge computing racks where UPS runtime is required but full external battery cabinets are not justified.

Compatibility is limited to specific Eaton 5P and 5PX models; it integrates with the existing UPS internal battery harness and cabinet without requiring special adapters or external mounting hardware. Service technicians will replace the exhausted battery pack during maintenance windows to minimize interruption to protected loads.

In practice, this battery pack is installed when UPS runtime begins to diminish noticeably, typically after 3 – 5 years of service life in normal operating conditions. It is not a runtime extender beyond original design, but a like‑for‑like battery replacement to maintain UPS runtime performance.

This device should not be used as an external battery in UPS models that require dedicated extended battery modules (EBMs) or lithium battery options. It is not designed for UPS architectures outside the specified Eaton 5P/5PX series. Deployment in unsupported or larger capacity UPS systems can lead to improper fit and reduced reliability.
