Oracle DE3-24C – Storage Expansion Shelf

Overview :

The Oracle DE3-24C is a high-density, rack-mount storage expansion shelf designed to scale capacity for Oracle ZFS Storage Appliances. It provides a robust physical storage layer, supporting a mix of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) and high-capacity hardf disk drives (HDDs) to balance performance and cost for demanding enterprise data environments.

The unit features a dual-controller configuration for redundancy and is engineered to maintain high availability in tiered storage architectures. By utilizing SAS-3 connectivity, it ensures low-latency data transfer between the appliance head and the storage media. It is optimized for large-scale data consolidation, backup/restore operations, and high-performance I/O intensive database workloads.

Deployment is intended for enterprise data centers currently running supported Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance ZS series models. It is not compatible with standard non-Oracle storage controllers or legacy Sun Storage arrays that do not support SAS-3 expansion protocols.
