IT administrators and small business professionals deploy this UPS in offices, network closets, and edge infrastructure to maintain uptime during utility outages, voltage sags, and brownouts.

The unit delivers 1000 VA / 650 W output capacity with a simulated sine‑wave output, suitable for moderate loads such as workstations, routers, and entry‑level servers. Its line‑interactive architecture incorporates Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct low‑ and high‑voltage conditions without switching to battery whenever possible, preserving runtime for actual power interruptions.

In a tower form factor, SMC1000‑2UC is placed adjacent to equipment or near network racks where space permits. Power input is provided via a NEMA 5‑15P connector, and protected outlets on the rear panel include eight NEMA 5‑15R receptacles delivering both battery‑backup and surge protection. The UPS integrates basic surge filtering to mitigate transient voltage events that could affect sensitive electronics.
