APC SMT1000C is a line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply designed to protect critical IT equipment and network devices from power disturbances, brownouts, and utility outages. IT administrators and small business technicians deploy this UPS to maintain uptime for servers, workstations, storage appliances, and communication equipment in environments operating on 120 V AC power.

The unit provides 1000 VA / 700 W output capacity with a pure sine‑wave output, making it compatible with modern server‑grade power supplies and active PFC loads. Its line‑interactive topology incorporates Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct undervoltage and overvoltage conditions without switching to battery support, preserving battery energy for actual outage events.
