Overview

APC SMT3000RMT2U is a rack-mount line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed to provide power protection and battery backup for critical IT infrastructure. Network engineers and data center administrators deploy this UPS in rack cabinets to maintain stable power delivery for servers, storage arrays, and network switching equipment during power disturbances or utility outages.

The unit delivers 3000 VA / 2700 W output capacity and operates at a 208 V AC voltage ecosystem, producing a pure sine-wave output suitable for modern servers and networking hardware with active PFC power supplies. Its line-interactive topology stabilizes voltage fluctuations using Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), reducing battery usage during brownouts or overvoltage events while maintaining continuous equipment operation.

The UPS installs into standard 19-inch racks occupying 2U of vertical space, making it suitable for dense server cabinets in enterprise data centers, branch infrastructure racks, and edge compute deployments. Power input is provided through a NEMA L6-20P connector, while the rear panel provides two NEMA L6-20R output receptacles for protected equipment or rack-level PDUs operating within the 208 V power environment.

Management connectivity includes USB and RS-232 communication interfaces for integration with shutdown software and monitoring tools. A SmartSlot expansion port enables installation of optional network management cards for remote UPS monitoring, event logging, and integration into centralized infrastructure management platforms.

The integrated sealed lead-acid battery module provides backup runtime of approximately 3–4 minutes at full load and around 11–12 minutes at half load, allowing controlled shutdown of connected equipment or short-duration ride-through during utility interruptions. Batteries are hot-swappable and typically recharge within approximately 3 hours after discharge.

This UPS is designed for racks operating within a 208 V single-phase power infrastructure and requires the appropriate circuit type. It is not intended for environments that only provide standard 120 V receptacles or low-power desktop equipment deployments.
