Overview :

The APC SMX1000CNC is a line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to provide conditioned AC power and short‑duration backup for IT equipment operating on 120 V single‑phase power. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers and IT technicians to protect servers, network devices, storage systems, VoIP/UC appliances, and peripheral hardware against voltage sags, surges, brownouts, and outages while enabling orderly shutdowns or transition to standby power.

Rated at 1000 VA / 700 W, this UPS supports medium‑density rack and closet systems. Its Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects minor mains voltage fluctuations without engaging the battery, extending battery service life. Under battery mode, the unit delivers a pure sine‑wave output, suitable for active PFC loads and sensitive electronics.

The SMX1000CNC is designed in a tower form factor with an integrated status display, making it suitable for server closets, workstations, small racks, or edge cabinets where horizontal rack space is limited. The front panel provides real‑time information on load, battery status, and input/output voltages.

Management and monitoring capabilities include SmartConnect cloud connectivity and an integrated Network Management Card (NMC) enabled for remote status reports, alerts, and graceful shutdown integration with centralised platforms. USB and serial communications support local control and shutdown behaviour for connected hosts.

Typical runtime is sufficient for short interruptions, allowing for proper application shutdown sequences or generator transfer. Batteries are user‑replaceable, reducing service visits and enabling rapid maintenance without equipment downtime.

This UPS is not suitable for high‑availability core data centre racks, extended runtime without external battery packs, or 208 V/230 V installations without the correct regional model variant.
