Overview

The Eaton SR16SHELF is a configurable 3U rack mount storage shelf engineered for structured rack environments where consolidated storage of personal electronic devices is needed. It’s deployed by IT infrastructure teams and systems engineers in communications closets, IDFs/MDFs, or edge racks to organize tablets, laptops, and similar devices within a standard 19‑inch EIA‑compliant rack. The SR16SHELF solves the problem of ad‑hoc device placement by providing a dedicated shelf with adjustable separators and cable management ports.

This rack shelf supports storage for up to 16 personal electronic devices, using 15 removable and adjustable dividers to accommodate varying device widths. Devices rest on the shelf surface while power/charging cables thread through rubber‑grommeted ports to prevent cable clutter and strain.

Mechanically, the SR16SHELF occupies 3U of vertical rack space and is compatible with all EIA‑compliant 19‑inch wall‑mount and floor rack enclosures. Its black, non‑scuff finish protects against surface wear in high‑density rack environments.

Integration is straightforward in standard rack ecosystems; the shelf uses included mounting hardware (M6 screws, cage nuts and cup washers) and fits seamlessly alongside active equipment, UPS units, PDUs, and passive rack components without special rails or brackets.

A practical deployment example includes a branch office IDF where mobile devices are pre‑staged for field technicians; the SR16SHELF organizes devices and routes charging cables neatly to nearby PDUs. This shelf is not designed for heavy server equipment or network appliances exceeding its 12 lb load rating and should not be used to support heavy devices without additional support structures.
