Overview

The Eaton SRWO12UHD is a wall-mounted 2-post open frame rack designed for mounting 19-inch rack equipment in environments where floor space is limited. It is deployed by network engineers and infrastructure teams to support switches, patch panels, and lightweight rack equipment in wiring closets, branch offices, and edge installations.

The rack provides 12U of vertical capacity and supports standard EIA-310 19-inch equipment. It accommodates devices up to approximately 18 inches in depth and supports a maximum static load capacity of 200 lb (90.7 kg). The open frame architecture allows unrestricted access to installed equipment and cabling, simplifying installation and maintenance workflows.

This model is typically installed in IDF closets, retail back offices, and structured cabling environments where equipment density is moderate and full enclosures are not required. Its wall-mount design allows equipment to be elevated off the floor, improving cable routing and physical accessibility in constrained deployments.

The SRWO12UHD integrates into standard rack ecosystems using threaded 12-24 mounting holes and numbered rack spaces for alignment. It is compatible with common rack-mounted accessories such as patch panels, shallow-depth switches, and lightweight PDUs designed for 2-post installations.

In a practical deployment, the rack is mounted above cable entry points in a network closet, supporting a patch panel and access switch stack. The open frame structure allows technicians to terminate and manage cabling without obstruction while maintaining visibility of all connections.

This rack is not suitable for full-depth servers, rail-mounted equipment, or heavy UPS systems requiring 4-post support. It is also not appropriate for environments requiring physical security, airflow containment, or dust protection, as it lacks enclosure panels and locking mechanisms.
