Overview

The APC SMX1500RM2UC is a 2U rack/tower convertible, line-interactive UPS rated at 1,500 VA / 1,350 W (nominal 1,350 W) that protects servers, network gear, storage arrays, and critical infrastructure in small data centers, server closets, and edge sites. It delivers a pure sine-wave output, which is suitable for sensitive modern loads and active PFC power supplies. Built-in Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) adjusts for undervolt or overvoltage conditions without switching to battery, which reduces battery wear. In a blackout, it switches over with minimal interruption. It offers 8 NEMA 5-15R outlets (battery + surge), a front LCD interface for monitoring, and SmartConnect for cloud visibility and remote event alerts. Runtime can be extended with compatible external battery packs as needed.
