The SN4000B extension module enriches SAN fabrics by offering high-density connectivity across multiple technologies. With 24 Fibre Channel ports operating at 16 Gb/s, it accelerates storage I/O within SAN topologies. Complementing that, 16 SFP+ ports support both 1 GbE and 10 GbE, enabling SAN-LAN convergence or auxiliary Ethernet services over familiar infrastructure. The addition of 2 QSFP+ uplink ports at 40 GbE ensures high-bandwidth interconnects to aggregation layers or SAN Directors.

Advanced Options

Fabric performance is robust, offering approximately 768 Gbps aggregate bandwidth with fabric latency around 700 ns, and jumbo frame support up to 9,000 bytes—ideal for storage-intensive workloads. Management is comprehensive and enterprise-ready, featuring SNMP (v1/v3), Telnet, HTTP/HTTPS, SMI-S, SSH, and CLI interfaces. Advanced functionality includes 256-bit AES-GCM encryption, SSL, RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP, and CHAP authentication, alongside QoS, IP filtering, class-of-service, back-to-front airflow, and RSCN support—making it a high-performance, secure SAN edge solution.
