Overview

The HPE JX945A, also known as the Aruba Instant AP-305, is a high-performance, dual-radio 802.11ac Wave 2 access point designed for medium-density enterprise environments. It addresses the need for reliable, high-speed wireless connectivity in areas with a growing number of mobile and IoT devices. The AP-305 is engineered to boost network efficiency and eliminate performance degradation by supporting simultaneous data transmission to multiple Wave 2 compatible clients. This access point leverages 3x3 Single-User MIMO and 2x2 Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) on the 5GHz band to achieve a maximum data rate of 1,300 Mbps, and 2x2 MIMO on the 2.4GHz band for up to 300 Mbps. A key technical feature is Aruba's patented ClientMatch technology, which actively steers clients to the AP with the best signal, preventing "sticky client" issues and ensuring optimal performance as users roam. This intelligent RF management, combined with Advanced Cellular Coexistence (ACC) to minimize interference from cellular networks, delivers a stable and robust user experience. Intended for indoor, ceiling-mounted deployments, the JX945A operates in Aruba's controller-less "Instant" mode, where one AP automatically distributes the network configuration to other Instant APs in the WLAN. This simplifies deployment and management for organizations without a mobility controller. Management is handled via an intuitive web GUI or a centralized cloud platform, offering granular control and visibility over the wireless network and connected applications. Its compact form factor and support for 802.3af PoE make for a clean and flexible installation.
