Overview

The Eaton SRSHELF4PHD is a fixed, heavy‑duty rack shelf engineered to provide sturdy, horizontal support inside standard 19‑inch server racks and enclosures. It is deployed by infrastructure, network, and systems engineers to mount non‑rackable equipment — such as larger UPS units, KVM consoles, DVRs, test gear, or other peripherals — that don’t include rack ears but require secure mounting space in a rack environment.

This accessory occupies 4U of vertical rack space and mounts to rack posts using cantilever brackets. Constructed from reinforced steel with a black finish, the shelf is designed for high static load support while maintaining a low profile relative to the rail pattern. It includes hardware compatible with both 2‑post and 4‑post racks.

The shelf’s surface spans the full 19‑inch rack width and provides a deep platform suitable for deeper devices typically found in telecom, security, and edge compute racks. Mount hardware is included to align with EIA‑310‑E rack hole spacing. A raised lip on the front and rear edges helps keep equipment from sliding off during install operations or maintenance cycles.

In real deployment, the shelf supports equipment that cannot otherwise be mounted via traditional rack ears. Typical uses include small power distribution units, battery packs, instrument consoles, or stand‑alone appliances.
