Overview

The Eaton SRW6UDP is a SmartRack series 6U wall‑mount rack enclosure designed to secure and organize standard 19‑inch rack‑mount equipment where floor space is constrained. It is deployed by network and infrastructure engineers in wiring closets, branch offices, classrooms, and retail locations to provide rigid mounting and physical security for switches, patch panels, small UPS units, and other network hardware.

Constructed from heavy‑duty steel with a black powder‑coated finish, the enclosure supports a static load capacity of up to 200 lb (≈ 90.7 kg). Front, top, bottom, and removable side panels are vented to promote airflow across installed equipment. The unit ships fully assembled and ready for wall mounting, reducing installation time.

The front door is reversible and lockable, allowing the installer to configure access direction based on space constraints. Convenient top and bottom cable routing ports facilitate structured cabling without compromising equipment placement. Vertical mounting rails adjust in approximately 7/8‑inch increments to accommodate equipment depths up to 20.5 in (≈ 521 mm).

This enclosure is most effective in locations where floor racks are impractical, yet enclosed equipment requires protection from tampering and a degree of thermal interaction. Typical uses include network closets and edge telecom rooms where compact, secure rack space is necessary.

It should not be used for heavy server deployments exceeding its static load or for deep equipment significantly beyond 20.5 in without additional shelves or supports. It is also inappropriate for environments requiring IP‑rated enclosures or high‑security access controls beyond mechanical door locks.
