The Eaton PS7224 is a power distribution strip designed to extend a 120 V AC supply into a high‑density series of receptacles for rack, bench, wall, or raceway mounting. It’s used by IT engineers, facilities teams, and industrial support personnel where simple, reliable outlet access is required without surge suppression or active management. It solves the need for convenient multi‑outlet AC distribution in equipment racks, labs, and industrial workspaces.

This horizontal/vertical power strip supports up to 24 NEMA 5‑15R outlets, fed from a 120 V AC, 15 A input via a NEMA 5‑15P plug with a 15 ft (4.57 m) cord. Integrated 15 A circuit breaker and a lighted on/off switch provide basic overload disconnect and user feedback.

Mechanically, the PS7224’s 72‑inch (~1828 mm) aluminum housing is sized for rack side‑mount or horizontal mounting in EIA‑310 environments, as well as wall or workbench installations, conserving dedicated PDUs for critical paths.

It does not include surge protection, outlet switching, or network connectivity — this product purely delivers basic AC outlets for use with BYOD equipment and non‑managed devices. Monitoring and control must be handled at the load side or upstream infrastructure.

A typical deployment is adding a bulk outlet strip along the vertical side of a rack to power servers, switches, and peripheral devices where no managed power distribution unit (PDU) is necessary. This strip is not appropriate for mission‑critical deployments that require surge suppression, outlet metering, remote control, or integration with DCIM systems; choose a managed or metered PDU in those cases.
