Overview

The Eaton PDUMH30HVATNET is a vertical network‑managed power distribution unit with automatic transfer switch (ATS) functionality designed for IT rack environments that require controlled and resilient AC distribution over 208 V–230 V single‑phase feeds. It is deployed by data center engineers, facilities/planning teams, and network architects to distribute power with remote outlet control, load monitoring, and automatic redundancy between two AC inputs, reducing service interruptions due to a failed feed. ATS capability seamlessly switches between two live sources (primary/secondary) to sustain power continuity.

This PDU supports a 24 A continuous (agency‑derated from 30 A) input on each of two NEMA L6‑30P inlet circuits, providing up to ~5.8 kW of total output power at 208 V–230 V. It provides 19 switched IEC outlets (typically C13 and C19 mix) for rack gear, with individual control via the embedded Eaton LX network interface (SNMP/Web/SSH/Telnet). Physically, the PDUMH30HVATNET is a 2U horizontal rack‑mount unit with included mounting brackets and detachable 10 ft cord. Its ATS design makes it suitable for racks with dual power feeds from separate UPS or mains panels, enabling load resilience in environments where power availability and uptime are critical.

Integration includes network connectivity for remote monitoring and control via Eaton’s embedded management platform plus local display of amperage. The ATS feature automatically shifts load between the two feed sources based on availability without manual intervention, enabling integration with redundant power infrastructures. Ensure upstream circuits and receptacles are rated appropriately for dual 30 A service and confirm outlet mix matches device power cords.
