Eaton EATS115 – Rack ATS PDU 120V 12A

Overview

The Eaton EATS115 is a rack-mounted Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) PDU designed to provide redundant power to single-corded IT equipment. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers to eliminate single points of failure in environments where dual upstream power sources (A/B feeds) are available but end devices lack dual power supplies.

The unit operates at 120V single-phase with a 12A input rating and supports a maximum load of 1.44 kW. It features dual NEMA 5-15P input connections and distributes power across ten NEMA 5-15R outlets. The ATS continuously monitors both input sources and performs automatic transfer within approximately 8–10 milliseconds when the primary source fails, maintaining load continuity.

This model is typically installed in 19-inch racks within branch offices, IDF closets, and edge deployments where North American 120V power infrastructure is standard. Its 1U horizontal form factor allows efficient integration into shallow-depth racks and wall-mounted enclosures.

The EATS115 integrates with Eaton’s network management ecosystem via built-in Ethernet and serial interfaces, enabling remote monitoring, alerting, and control through SNMP or web-based management platforms. It aligns with standard NEMA-based power environments and is commonly deployed alongside UPS systems to create A/B feed redundancy.

In a practical deployment, the unit is used to supply a single power supply network switch from two independent UPS systems. If one UPS enters maintenance or fails, the ATS transfers the load to the alternate source without interrupting downstream connectivity.

This device should not be deployed in regions using 208V/230V IEC power standards or where connected loads exceed 12A. It is also unsuitable for environments without dual independent input sources, as redundancy capability would not be utilized.
