Overview

The Eaton SR2POST is a 45U two-post open frame rack designed for mounting standard 19-inch rack equipment in environments where accessibility, airflow, and cost efficiency are prioritized over enclosure security. It is commonly deployed by network engineers and infrastructure teams for patch panels, switches, and lightweight rack equipment in telecom rooms and lab environments.

This rack provides 45U of vertical mounting capacity with a maximum load rating of 800 lb (362.9 kg). It uses 12-24 threaded and numbered mounting holes, enabling direct equipment installation without cage nuts. The two-post design reduces material footprint while maintaining structural integrity for network and lightweight server equipment.

The SR2POST is typically deployed in network closets, lab environments, staging areas, and telecom rooms where front access to equipment is sufficient and rear cable management is minimal. Its open frame architecture allows unrestricted airflow, making it suitable for passive cooling environments without the need for enclosed cabinet ventilation strategies.

Integration aligns with EIA-310-E 19-inch rack standards, supporting a wide range of IT equipment including patch panels, routers, switches, and certain UPS systems. Toolless keyhole mounting slots allow attachment of vertical PDUs and cable management accessories, enabling structured power and cable routing within open rack deployments.

This rack is not suitable for heavy server deployments requiring four-post support, especially for deep or high-weight equipment such as large UPS systems or storage arrays. It is also not appropriate for environments requiring physical security, dust control, or hot/cold aisle containment, where enclosed cabinets are required.
