Its role is strictly mechanical — it does not add electrical or power management capabilities but enables proper rack installation where equipment would otherwise lack direct mounting provisions.

This accessory fits select Eaton 5P series 1U UPS models and compatible 1U extended battery modules such as the 9PXEBM48RT‑L and 9PXEBM72RT‑L. It consists of two vertical metal rails with pre‑drilled holes matching 19‑inch rack patterns and hardware to affix the UPS or EBM units securely in place, maintaining structural integrity in standard server cabinets.

Mechanically, RK2PA adapts the mounting points of supported UPS/EBM systems to 2‑post rack frames, which typically lack the depth or cross‑members found in 4‑post cabinets. It must be used with a rack that provides adequate depth and load support — the kit does not supply additional shelf or weight distribution hardware.

Integration is limited to rack installation; it does not include power rails, cable management channels, or UPS electrical components. Confirm that the UPS/EBM unit’s weight and depth fall within the rack’s specifications and that appropriate fasteners are used for secure mounting.

A practical deployment for the RK2PA is installing a 5P750R, 5P850GR, 5P1000R, 5P1500R, or 5P1550GR UPS into a 2‑post IT rack or telecom cabinet where only two upright posts are present. This kit enables orderly integration of UPS units in minimalist racks at edge closets or small wiring rooms. It is not suitable where a 4‑post rack is required to support heavier equipment loads, or where slide‑rail serviceability is mandated — in those cases choose a 4‑post rail kit and shelf system instead.
