Overview

The Eaton 5P850G is a line-interactive UPS designed for IT, networking, and telecom equipment operating in 230 V single-phase environments using IEC power distribution. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers supporting international or mixed-voltage installations where IEC C13/C14 connectivity is required. The unit provides voltage regulation and battery backup to maintain uptime during short outages and unstable utility conditions.

This model delivers 850 VA / 600 W capacity with true sine-wave output, supporting small servers, network switches, firewalls, and edge compute devices. Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) stabilizes input voltage across a wide operating range (approximately 150–294 V) without switching to battery, preserving battery capacity for actual outage events.

The unit is built in a tower form factor, making it suitable for deployment in branch offices, network closets, and edge locations where rack infrastructure may not be present. Its compact footprint allows placement under desks, in cabinets, or alongside freestanding IT equipment while maintaining proper airflow and service access.

Integration includes USB and RS-232 communication interfaces and a network management expansion slot, enabling SNMP/Web monitoring, automated shutdown, and integration with centralized UPS management platforms. IEC output connectivity aligns with global rack PDU ecosystems and simplifies deployment in 230 V environments.

In deployment, the 5P850G is used to provide short-duration runtime (~4 min at full load, ~12 min at half load) for controlled shutdown or generator transfer. It is not designed for extended runtime applications, as external battery module support is not provided in this model class.
