Overview

The Tripp Lite PDUMH15 is a 1U rack-mounted metered Power Distribution Unit (PDU) designed to deliver reliable AC power distribution to rack-mounted IT equipment. It is deployed by network and infrastructure engineers to distribute power from a single 120V source while providing real-time load monitoring to prevent circuit overload conditions.

This unit operates on a single-phase 120V input with a 15A rating (derated to 12A continuous), delivering up to 1.44 kW of output capacity. It provides 13 NEMA 5-15R outlets (1 front-facing and 12 rear-facing), allowing flexible connection of mixed IT loads. A built-in digital current meter displays real-time load in amps, enabling on-site monitoring of power utilization without requiring network connectivity.

The PDUMH15 is typically deployed in 19-inch racks within branch offices, IDF closets, and small data center environments using North American 120V power infrastructure. Its 1U horizontal form factor supports installation in standard rack enclosures, wall-mount setups, or under-counter placements where centralized power distribution is required.

It integrates into existing UPS-backed or mains-powered environments via a fixed NEMA 5-15P input cord. The unit is designed for compatibility with standard NEMA-based ecosystems and is commonly used downstream of UPS systems to distribute protected power to network switches, servers, and telecom devices.

In a practical deployment, the PDUMH15 is used in a small rack to distribute UPS output power to multiple access switches and edge devices, while the front-panel meter allows technicians to verify load levels during equipment additions or maintenance.

This unit is not suitable for environments requiring remote monitoring or outlet-level control, as it provides only local metering. It should also not be used in high-density racks exceeding 12A continuous load or in 208V/230V IEC-based power environments.
