Overview

The StarTech STDHVHDBT is a multi-input HDBaseT extender kit with an integrated video switch, designed for AV distribution in conference rooms, classrooms, and control environments. It consolidates multiple video sources into a single transmission path, reducing the need for separate switchers and extenders.

The unit supports four input sources (2× HDMI, 1× DisplayPort, 1× VGA) and extends video over a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable up to 70 meters (230 ft) at 1080p, or up to 40 meters for 4K. It delivers up to 4K resolution (4K30 / 4K60 4:2:0) with integrated 7.1 digital audio, making it suitable for mixed-source environments and BYOD scenarios.

Deployment is point-to-point using HDBaseT infrastructure, typically installed behind displays or within AV racks. It simplifies cabling and supports centralized display switching. Not suitable for IP-based AV distribution, multi-endpoint scaling, or ultra-low latency applications requiring uncompressed transport beyond HDBaseT limits.
