Overview

The StarTech IH2006-KVM-EXTENDER is a professional-grade AVoIP solution that enables the remote operation of a computer system over a 1GbE local area network (LAN). By utilizing a standard TCP/IP infrastructure, this kit extends 4K 60Hz HDMI video along with USB keyboard and mouse signals, allowing IT administrators to secure critical hardware in climate-controlled server rooms while maintaining full control from a remote console.

The system is designed for scalability, supporting point-to-point connections or one-to-many distribution when integrated with a managed IGMP-enabled network switch. It features a driverless, plug-and-play setup compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. The transmitter also includes a local HDMI loop-out port for monitoring at the source and an analog 3.5mm audio passthrough for dedicated sound reinforcement.

This extender is ideal for industrial control rooms, digital signage, and secure government facilities. It requires a dedicated network or a properly configured VLAN with IGMP snooping and 9K jumbo frame support to ensure optimal performance and prevent network congestion.
