Overview

The StarTech ST12MHDLAN2K is a HDMI over IP extender kit that transmits HDMI video and audio up to 100 m using Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cabling and existing IP network infrastructure. It supports 1920×1080 @ 60 Hz distribution with HDMI plus analog/digital audio, and includes a transmitter and receiver for scalable point‑to‑point or networked setups.

This kit is intended for AV distribution in digital signage, classrooms, retail, corporate and public spaces where HDMI must be extended beyond typical cable limits or deployed to multiple displays using additional receivers (sold separately). It supports RS‑232 control extension and video wall configurations when combined with network switches and control software.

Deployment requires Cat5e/Cat6 cabling between transmitter and receiver or through an IP switch with IGMP‑snooping enabled; it is not suited for direct HDMI connection or unmanaged cable runs without network configuration.
