Overview

The StarTech USB2001EXT2PNA is a USB 2.0 over Cat5e/Cat6 extender kit that enables a single USB device to be connected up to 100 m (330 ft) from the host system using standard Ethernet cabling, eliminating USB cable distance limitations. It is a useful solution for remote peripherals such as keyboards, scanners, webcams, or printers in industrial, educational, or production environments where the host system is inaccessible.

The kit contains both local (host) and remote units connected via a single RJ‑45 link. It supports USB 2.0 transfer rates up to 480 Mbps, backward compatibility with USB 1.1/1.0 devices, and flexible power options (power adapter may be connected on either unit). LED indicators provide status for link, activity, host and power. Not suitable for USB 3.0 bandwidth needs or network switch traversal; requires direct cabling between units.
