The Eaton 9PXEBM36RT is an extended battery module (EBM) designed to increase runtime for compatible Eaton 9PX UPS systems. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers to extend backup duration during utility outages without altering the UPS power capacity. The module connects directly to the UPS DC bus, enabling longer operational windows for controlled shutdown or continued service availability.

This unit provides a 36V DC battery system using sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. It is specifically designed for use with Eaton 9PX700RT and 9PX1000RT UPS models, delivering scalable runtime expansion depending on load conditions. The module supports daisy-chaining of up to four EBMs, allowing incremental runtime extension for longer outage scenarios.

The 9PXEBM36RT is built in a 2U rack/tower convertible form factor, allowing deployment in standard 19-inch racks or as a tower unit in space-constrained environments. It is typically installed in small data centers, network closets, and edge locations where runtime requirements exceed the internal battery capacity of the UPS.
