Overview

The Eaton 9PX3000RT is a double-conversion online UPS designed to provide continuous, conditioned power for critical IT and network infrastructure. It is deployed by data center engineers and facility operators to eliminate downtime caused by power disturbances such as outages, voltage fluctuations, and frequency instability. The system ensures stable output by continuously regenerating power, isolating connected loads from input anomalies.

This UPS delivers 3000VA / 2700W capacity and operates with true online double-conversion topology, ensuring zero transfer time during utility failures. It outputs a pure sine wave at 120V and supports multiple NEMA receptacles, including six 5-20R and one L5-30R outlet for mixed-load environments. The unit maintains tight voltage regulation (±1%) and supports high power factor loads commonly found in server and network deployments.

The 9PX3000RT is designed for installation in standard 19-inch racks or as a tower unit, occupying 2U of rack space. It is typically deployed in small to mid-sized data centers, enterprise server rooms, and edge environments where higher power density is required compared to lower-capacity UPS systems. The rack/tower convertible design enables flexible placement within structured racks or standalone installations.

The unit operates within 100–120V single-phase power ecosystems and integrates with upstream utility power, generators, and facility distribution systems. It supports hot-swappable internal batteries and expansion through external battery modules, allowing runtime extension without downtime. Eaton’s ABM battery management technology optimizes charging cycles and provides predictive battery replacement alerts.

In a practical deployment, the 9PX3000RT can support a rack containing virtualization hosts, high-port-density switches, and storage arrays approaching 2–2.5 kW load levels. During a power failure, the UPS maintains continuous output while enabling controlled shutdown via USB or serial interfaces, preventing service disruption and data loss.

This unit is not suitable for three-phase environments or for deployments requiring 208V output. It is also not appropriate for loads exceeding 2700W or for facilities that require built-in network management without installing an optional communication card.
