Overview

The Eaton SU1500LCD1U is a 1U rackmount online (double-conversion) UPS designed for continuous power conditioning and zero-transfer backup in 120 V single-phase IT environments. It is deployed by network engineers and data center operators where even millisecond-level interruptions are unacceptable, such as in server racks, telecom systems, and edge compute nodes. The double-conversion topology continuously converts incoming AC to DC and back to AC, isolating connected equipment from all upstream power anomalies.

The unit provides 1500 VA / 1440 W capacity with unity power factor, allowing full utilization of rated output for modern IT loads. It delivers true sine-wave output with ±3% voltage regulation in both line and battery modes, ensuring compatibility with servers, storage, and networking equipment requiring stable voltage and frequency.

Designed for high-density deployments, the SU1500LCD1U occupies 1U of rack space in standard 19″ EIA racks. This makes it suitable for IDF/MDF cabinets, colocation racks, and shallow rack environments where vertical space is constrained but consistent power quality is required. The extended chassis depth accommodates internal batteries while maintaining a compact rack footprint.

Integration includes USB, RS-232, EPO/ROO, and a network management card slot (WEBCARDLXE) for SNMP/Web monitoring and remote shutdown control. The front LCD interface provides real-time visibility into load, battery status, and electrical conditions, supporting commissioning and troubleshooting in distributed environments.

In deployment, this UPS is used to provide short-duration runtime (~3 min full load, ~10 min half load) for controlled shutdown or generator transfer. It does not support external battery modules, making it unsuitable for applications requiring extended runtime scaling or prolonged backup beyond internal battery capacity.
