The Eaton SRCABLETRAY is a roof‑mounted cable tray/trough for structured cable routing across the tops of rack enclosures and open‑frame systems. Rack engineers, network installers, and data‑center technicians deploy it to organize horizontal power and data cabling above equipment, helping eliminate stress on cable terminations and maintain tidy cable pathways. It is designed specifically to work with Eaton/Tripp Lite SmartRack cabinets.

Mechanically, SRCABLETRAY provides a dedicated horizontal path for mixed copper, fiber, and power cables across a row of rack enclosures. Its configuration prevents cable overcrowding at the top of racks and creates a controlled route for bundles exiting or entering equipment. Mounting is to the top panel of SmartRack enclosures without tools, simplifying installation in standard 4‑post racks.

The tray fits across SmartRack EIA‑310 compliant racks and integrates with overhead cable ladder systems (e.g., SRCABLELADDER) to create continuous overhead pathways. A grounding stud facilitates bonding to facility ground, important for maintaining electrical safety and minimizing EMI/ground loops.

SRCABLETRAY interacts with additional SmartRack accessories: it is required when connecting cable ladders to cabinet tops for continuous overhead routing. Without it, ladder sections cannot properly interface with enclosure profiles. The tray’s placement above rack rows provides an organized, segregated route for power and data that is distinct from vertical management channels.

In practical deployments, use SRCABLETRAY above aligned rack rows in IDFs, data halls, and network closets where bulk cabling transitions between cabinets and overhead trays. It is not a load‑bearing tray for heavy conduit or conduit busbars; for main power distribution or ceiling supports exceeding electrical code loads, dedicated electrical ladder tray systems certified for those applications should be used.
