Overview

The APC BE425M is a compact uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to provide battery backup and surge protection for essential electronics and small IT systems. It’s deployed by IT technicians and small office or home support personnel to maintain continuity during brief utility outages and help safeguard devices against voltage excursions.

This UPS is rated at 425 VA / 255 W with a 120 V AC input and output. It operates in standby (offline) topology and switches to battery power when incoming voltage falls outside normal limits — typical transfer times range from approximately 6 ms to 10 ms.

Outlets consist of a mix of 4 battery‑backup plus surge‑protected receptacles and 2 surge‑only receptacles. Visual LED indicators and audible alarms provide status for line power, battery mode, overload, and faults.

Internal maintenance‑free sealed lead‑acid battery technology supplies DC energy during outages. Runtime varies with load, with brief support at full rated load and longer duration at reduced load. The integrated battery recharges automatically when utility power is restored.
