Overview

The StarTech ICUSB23216FD is a 16‑port USB‑to‑serial adapter hub that adds RS‑232 serial connectivity to a host system via a single USB 2.0 interface. It is engineered for industrial control, automation, point‑of‑sale (POS), security systems, and server rack deployments requiring many independent serial interfaces managed centrally.

The all‑metal chassis is rugged and rack‑mountable with included brackets and supports daisy‑chain expansion of multiple hubs for scalable serial port counts. COM port retention ensures consistency of assigned port numbers across reconnections. Operating temperature range supports extended environments. It is not intended for non‑RS‑232 protocols or environments requiring native USB 3.x performance.
