The JL687A module slots into an Aruba CX 8400 8‑slot chassis, offering up to 32 SFP28 ports capable of operating at 1 G, 10 G, or 25 G speeds depending on the optics installed, leveraging 25GBase‑X technology for highest-speed links. Ports are arranged into eight interface groups of four each—speed per group must match to avoid configuration conflicts. Default interface speed is 25 G; groups can be reconfigured to 10 G (and 1 G only supported in 10 G mode) via CLI commands.Operating within Aruba OS‑CX, the module benefits from a resilient architecture with full non‑blocking switch fabric (19.2 Tbps across slots, 1.2 Tbps per slot) and advanced high availability via VSX, redundant fabric modules, and hot-swappable components. It supports rich Layer 2/3 protocols including OSPF, BGP, VRF, ECMP routing, QoS enforcement, VPN segmentation via Dynamic Segmentation, and virtualization-aware forwarding.
