The HPE Q2P62A is a high-performance 32 Gb SFP28 optical Transceiver Module engineered for short‑wave (850 nm) multimode fiber connectivity. Designed to support Fibre Channel networks at speeds up to 32 Gbps (also backwards compatible with 16 Gb and 8 Gb), it offers robust data transfer capability over OM4 and OM3 cabling. With an extended temperature rating and pull‑tab design, this module is tailored for demanding data center and storage environments. Ideal for enterprise SANs, server interconnects, and Fibre Channel switch uplinks, it enables reliable, low‑latency optical links with digital diagnostics monitoring.

Features

The module uses an SFP28 form factor with dual LC optical connectors and operates at an 850 nm VCSEL laser wavelength. It is fully compliant with SFP MSA and Fibre Channel FC-PI-6 specifications, ensuring interoperability across HPE SAN hardware and Fibre Channel switches. The extended-temperature capability allows operation in harsher thermal environments. Integrated digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) provides real-time optical power and temperature feedback for better link health monitoring.

With a compact hot-pluggable design, deployment and servicing are simplified. It supports up to 100 m reach on OM4 fiber and around 70 m on OM3, making it perfect for storage backend connections or cross-rack optical links in enterprise environments.
