The Black Box IC401A-R2 USB 2.0 CATx Extender is designed to overcome the distance limitations of standard USB cables by transmitting USB 2.0 signals over a single CATx cable. With support for transfer rates up to 480 Mbps and distances up to 100 meters, this extender is perfect for connecting USB peripherals in classrooms, offices, industrial floors, and remote workstations.
Features :
This extender kit consists of a local transmitter unit (placed near the host PC) and a remote receiver unit (placed near the USB device). Standard CAT5e/6/6a cabling is used to bridge the gap, making it a cost-effective and flexible extension method. Unlike some extenders that limit device compatibility, the IC401A-R2 delivers transparent USB extension, meaning it works seamlessly with most USB devices — including mass storage devices, printers, scanners, and webcams.
Advanced Options :
The extender is powered through included AC adapters at both ends, ensuring reliable operation even with power-hungry peripherals. With plug-and-play installation, it integrates easily into any USB environment without software configuration.
