Overview
The Ubiquiti UA-Retrofit-Hub-2 is a DC-powered UniFi Access control hub designed to modernize existing door access installations without requiring replacement of existing wiring. It supports up to two doors and two readers, including third-party Wiegand readers and UniFi Retrofit Readers. The hub provides door entry and exit control, door-position monitoring, request-to-exit inputs, emergency input, and configurable lock control through the UniFi Access platform.
Two-Door Access Control
The Retrofit Hub supports up to two doors and two connected readers. Each door can use a third-party Wiegand reader or a UniFi Retrofit Reader, allowing existing access-control installations to be integrated with UniFi Access.
Reader and Door Inputs
The hub provides inputs for two Wiegand or UniFi Retrofit Readers, two door exit-request devices, two door-position sensors, and one emergency input. These connections provide the input control needed for entry and exit management across two doors.
Flexible Lock Control
Each door supports powered and dry relay outputs. The powered lock output can provide 12V DC at up to 1A or 24V DC at up to 0.5A, while the dry lock relay is rated for up to 30V DC and 1A. Auxiliary dry outputs are also provided and support up to 30V DC at 1A.
DC Power and Ethernet
The UA-Retrofit-Hub-2 operates from 12V or 24V DC and has a maximum power consumption of 50W. Two 10/100 MbE RJ45 ports provide network connectivity for UniFi Access management.
Existing Wiring Retrofit
The Retrofit Hub is designed for installations where existing access-control wiring can be reused. This makes it suitable for upgrading compatible legacy access-control systems while retaining the existing reader and door wiring infrastructure where supported.
Installation and Enclosure
The hub uses a polycarbonate enclosure with an SGCC steel mounting bracket. DIN-rail mounting is included. The unit is intended for indoor use and operates from -10°C to 40°C with 5–90% non-condensing humidity.
