Overview

The APC APDU9941 is a vertical‑mount, switched rack power distribution unit designed for high‑density distribution and remote control of power to rack equipment. IT infrastructure and data center teams deploy this PDU where per‑outlet control, power cycling, and power sequencing are necessary to manage connected loads without physical access. The switched architecture allows individual outlets to be turned on or off remotely, supporting controlled recoveries of hung devices and orderly sequenced startups after maintenance events.

This model accepts a 30 A NEMA L6‑30P input at 200 V / 208 V AC, delivering up to 4992 VA (5.0 kW) of output capacity through a mix of 21 IEC 60320 C13/C15 and 3 IEC 60320 C19/C21 hybrid outlets. The hybrid outlets support both standard C14/C20 cords and higher‑temperature rated C16/C21 cords for equipment requiring elevated thermal tolerance.

Its zero‑U vertical form factor mounts alongside standard 19‑inch rack posts or channels without consuming usable rack units, preserving vertical space while providing robust power distribution to dense rack loads. A local interactive LCD display shows current, voltage, real power, and energy metrics, aiding in quick onsite verification during rack operations.

Management interfaces include Ethernet with Gigabit connectivity, enabling remote control and monitoring via Web, SNMP, and CLI (including Telnet) interfaces, and integration with infrastructure management platforms. Advanced features support per‑outlet switching, configurable power sequencing, and integration into centralized DCIM tools for alerting and reporting.

This PDU does not provide battery backup or ride‑through capability and is not a UPS. It is intended for managed power distribution and outlet control; installations that require continuity through utility outages should integrate this PDU with upstream uninterruptible power systems.
