Detailed Specifications

Ubiquiti UACC-CWDM-8 – UniFi 8-Channel CWDM Mux Demux 1450–1590nm

Overview

The Ubiquiti UACC-CWDM-8 is an 8-channel coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) multiplexer/demultiplexer designed to increase the capacity of existing single-mode fiber infrastructure. It provides eight wavelength channels from 1450 nm through 1590 nm and is housed in a 1U rack-mountable enclosure.

The unit combines eight wavelength-specific LC/UPC channel ports with dedicated communication, monitoring, and expansion ports. The COM port can link to another CWDM Mux Demux 8, while the EXP port can connect to a CWDM Mux Demux 4 for additional channels.

Technical Information

UACC-CWDM-8 uses SMF-28e fiber with integrated 0.9 mm pigtails. The eight channel center wavelengths are 1450, 1470, 1490, 1510, 1530, 1550, 1570, and 1590 nm. Each channel has a minimum passband of ±6.5 nm.

The optical specifications include maximum insertion loss below 2.5 dB, minimum return loss of 50 dB, maximum adjacent-channel isolation of 30 dB, minimum non-adjacent-channel isolation of 40 dB, and maximum power handling of 500 mW.

Compatibility

The device is designed for single-mode fiber infrastructure using LC/UPC connections. The COM port provides a duplex LC/UPC connection for linking another CWDM Mux Demux 8 using a pair of single-mode fiber cables.

The MON port provides a duplex LC/UPC monitoring connection for use with an optical power meter or optical spectrum analyzer. The EXP port provides a duplex LC/UPC connection for linking a CWDM Mux Demux 4 to add channels.

Key Features

  • 8-channel CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer
  • Eight wavelength channels from 1450 to 1590 nm
  • LC/UPC channel, communication, monitor, and expansion ports
  • SMF-28e single-mode fiber architecture with integrated pigtails
  • 1U rack-mountable metal enclosure

Applications

  • Increasing capacity of existing single-mode fiber infrastructure
  • Multi-wavelength enterprise fiber networks
  • Data center fiber aggregation
  • Campus backbone and inter-building fiber links
  • CWDM deployments requiring optical monitoring or expansion

DC Supplies Product Note

Before deployment, verify that the selected optical transceivers use wavelengths supported by the eight CWDM channels and that the installed fiber infrastructure uses compatible LC/UPC single-mode connections. The COM, MON, and EXP ports serve different optical functions and should not be treated as additional wavelength channels.
