Overview:

Ultrium 17532 LTO 3 Tape Cartridge combines the advantages of linear, multi-channel, bi-directional formats with enhancements in servo technology, data compression, track layout, and error correction to deliver higher performance and twice the capacity of LTO Generation 2 cartridges for 800GB storage capacity and 160MB per second transfer rate (2:1 17532 compressions). Patented, corner snap improves cartridge strength by keeping the leader pin in place and the cartridge tightly closed during rough handling. Patented three-piece tape spool aids in tape guidance, distributing stress more evenly over the tape for better performance and longer archival life. Durability is enhanced by dual-layer media using high-performance Metal Particulate (MP3) media formulation. The proprietary servo writing method optimizes tape tracking and helps ensure accurate read/write operations - enabling best-in-class Position Error Signal (PES) performance to minimize servo off-track errors and improve overall transfer rates.
