Overview :

The APC SMT3000RMUS is a line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) engineered to deliver regulated backup power and voltage conditioning for rack‑mounted IT systems. IT infrastructure teams deploy it to maintain uptime for servers, storage, networking, and communication equipment in distributed racks and edge closets.

This UPS offers approximately 3000 VA / 2700 W capacity with pure sine wave output, automatic voltage regulation (AVR), and line‑interactive topology to stabilize utility power and extend battery lifespan. It incorporates a multifunction LCD and a SmartSlot for optional network management cards to facilitate local and remote status monitoring.

Configured in a 2U 19‑inch rackmount form factor, the unit fits standard server cabinets and IDF/MDF racks. It has multiple battery‑backup outlets, accommodating diverse plugged‑in devices while maintaining a low rack height footprint.

Management interfaces include USB, RS‑232, and SmartSlot connectivity for PowerChute Network Shutdown or integration with centralized platforms like EcoStruxure IT. These options support orchestrated graceful shutdown of hosts, virtual machines, and clustered systems during extended outages.

A typical deployment is protecting a rack containing servers, SAN arrays, and network switches in a remote or branch data closet. In such environments, the SMT3000RMUS bridges short outages and provides time for orderly shutdowns, minimizing data corruption and service disruption.

This UPS is not suitable for larger data center mains power replacement or environments outside 120 V ecosystems without appropriate transformers. It also lacks the modular hot‑swap EBM scalability of larger three‑phase UPS systems.
