Overview :

The APC SMX2200RMLV2U is a 2.2 kVA / 1.98 kW line‑interactive UPS designed to provide conditioned AC power and uninterrupted backup for servers, networking, and edge IT infrastructure. It is typically deployed by IT engineers and facilities teams in small to medium enterprise environments that require reliable protection against brownouts, surges, and short outages without the complexity of online double‑conversion systems.

This model delivers 2 200 VA (1 980 W) output with selectable low‑voltage support across a 100–127 V input/output range and pure sine wave output suitable for sensitive electronics. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects significant voltage fluctuations without drawing on the battery, preserving runtime for genuine power failures.

The unit occupies 2U of standard 19‑inch rack space and includes hardware for rack or tower installation. Its size and convertible form factor make it suitable for enterprise IDF/MDF racks, remote office equipment closets, and SMB server rooms where rack depth is limited.

Management and monitoring are available via a SmartSlot expansion slot, USB, and serial interfaces. These enable integration with PowerChute software for graceful shutdowns and compatibility with central management platforms through optional network cards. Hot‑swappable sealed lead‑acid batteries support maintenance without powering down connected loads.

A practical deployment is as primary power protection for a rack of virtual hosts and SAN storage in a remote site IDF, where extended battery runtime is accomplished by adding external battery packs up to supported limits. Conversely, this UPS should not be deployed where 208 V or higher commercial power systems are mandated, as its input/output voltage range is limited to low‑voltage networks
