Overview

APC BR700G is a compact line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed to protect small IT systems and electronics from power interruptions, voltage fluctuations, and electrical surges. IT technicians and office administrators commonly deploy this UPS to protect desktop computers, network routers, storage devices, and point-of-sale systems where controlled shutdown and short-term power continuity are required.

The unit provides 700 VA / 420 W power capacity at 120 V AC, delivering battery-backed runtime during utility outages while maintaining voltage regulation during brownouts or overvoltage conditions. The line-interactive topology incorporates Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct voltage variations without switching to battery power, preserving battery runtime for actual outages.

The rear panel includes six NEMA 5-15R outlets, divided between three battery-backup plus surge-protected outlets and three surge-only outlets. This configuration allows administrators to reserve battery runtime for critical devices while connecting non-essential peripherals such as printers or speakers to surge-only protection.

Management connectivity is provided through a USB communication interface, enabling integration with shutdown software for controlled system shutdown during extended outages. The UPS also includes data line surge protection for telephone or network lines and coaxial protection to prevent surges transmitted through communication cables.

A sealed lead-acid battery module provides approximately 5 minutes of runtime at full load and around 15 minutes at half load, sufficient for safe system shutdown or short power interruptions. The battery typically recharges within approximately 12 hours, and the cartridge is user-replaceable using APC RBC17 replacement battery packs.

The BR700G is intended for tower-style deployment under desks, beside workstations, or within small equipment racks where limited backup runtime is sufficient. It is not designed for rack-mount installations or high-power server environments, as its power capacity and outlet configuration are targeted toward desktop-class equipment and edge networking devices.
