The StarTech MCM10GSFP2 is a high-performance 10GbE fiber media converter designed for high-bandwidth data center and enterprise applications. It facilitates the conversion between 10GBase-T copper (RJ45) and 10GBase-R fiber (SFP+), allowing network administrators to extend 10 Gigabit Ethernet segments over long-distance fiber optic backbones that exceed the 100-meter limitation of standard copper cabling.

Equipped with an open SFP+ slot, the converter offers maximum deployment flexibility. It supports any MSA-compliant 10Gbps SFP+ transceiver, enabling the use of multimode or single-mode fiber depending on the required distance and infrastructure.
