HPE R8R46-61001

ArubaInstant On 1430 Series 8-Port Gigabit Class 4 PoE Ethernet Switch

The HPER8R46-61001, part of the ArubaInstant On 1430 Series, is an easy-to-use unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch featuring eight RJ-45 ports with 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE (Class 4). With plug-and-play operation and no setup required, it's ideal for small businesses, branch offices, remote locations, or home office environments. Each port delivers up to 30 W of power, with a shared power budget of 64 W. The fan-less design ensures silent operation×making it suitable for workspace or open-plan deployments. It's compatible with PoE-powered devices such as access points, VoIP phones, surveillance cameras, or IoT sensors, offering reliable wired connectivity with built-in power.

Features

This switch is part of the Instant On 1430 family×a series of layer-2 unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switches tailored for simplicity and performance. The R8R46-61001 model delivers full Gigabit throughput across all eight copper ports and offers up to 11.90 Mpps forwarding and 16 Gbps switching capacity. Class 4 PoE support allows each port to power devices requiring up to 30 W, within a total 64 W budget. It's powered via an external adapter (up to ~90 W input power), supporting flexible deployments where integrated PoE midspan isn't available. Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) support reduces power consumption during idle periods. Despite its unmanaged nature, it supports QoS for prioritizing voice/video traffic, jumbo frames, flow control, and Auto MDI/MDI-X. The compact, table-top or rack-mountable form factor keeps deployment flexible in tight server racks or wall-mounted installations.

Advanced Options

Built for consistent performance and minimal setup, the R8R46-61001 switch offers enterprise-level features in a simple unmanaged package. Its fan-less thermal design and external power supply keep internal heat low and reduce noise×ideal for quiet office environments. Power-over-Ethernet Class 4 ensures stable power delivery to connected devices like Arubaaccess points or VoIP phones. With support for Energy Efficient Ethernet (802.3az),
