If you have two SFP ports on switches or servers and the distance is very short (e.g., same rack or neighbouring racks), this cable lets you skip separate modules + fibre/copper patch cable. It solves the rack-level interconnect need with a simple, fixed-length assembly. While it is labelled by Ruckus/Brocade-compatible (or legacy from Brocade branding) the critical part is to confirm that your switch supports its EEPROM/vendor ID.
