Overview

The E25G-SFP28-TWX-P-0301 is a passive twinax copper direct-attach cable (DAC) designed for 25 Gbps (25GBASE-CU) links between SFP28 ports. Engineers use it for short-reach, high-bandwidth connections such as top-of-rack to aggregation switch links, adjacent-rack uplinks or stacking links within the same rack. The fixed length of ~3 metres (≈9.84 ft) makes it ideal for compact deployments where fibre isn’t needed. Because it’s passive copper, the cable needs no powered optics, reducing power consumption and complexity compared to active optics or fibre.
