TRENDnet TEW-740APBO N300 Outdoor PoE Access Point
Overview
The TRENDnet TEW-740APBO is a Wireless N300 Outdoor PoE Access Point designed for reliable building-to-building network connectivity. This device is engineered for outdoor deployments, providing a durable and high-performance solution for extending wireless networks over long distances. It is an ideal choice for businesses, campuses, and service providers that need to connect separate physical locations without the expense and difficulty of running physical cable. The unit solves the challenge of linking networks across open areas where traditional cabling is impractical. Built to withstand harsh environmental conditions, the access point features an IP67-rated housing that protects it from dust and water ingress. It operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band, delivering data rates up to 300 Mbps. The integrated 10 dBi directional antenna is key to its long-range capabilities, focusing the wireless signal into a concentrated beam to ensure a stable and powerful point-to-point connection. This focused transmission minimizes interference and maximizes signal strength between locations. This device offers significant deployment flexibility with support for multiple operational modes, including Access Point (AP), Wireless Distribution System (WDS), Repeater, and CPE + AP. Its 7.6-inch wide form factor and included wall and pole mounting hardware allow for versatile installation on exterior walls or poles. Power is supplied via a proprietary Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, which simplifies installation by delivering both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a nearby power outlet.
