TRENDnet TEW-740APBO2K 10 dBi Wireless N300 Outdoor PoE Bridge Kit

Detailed Specifications

The TRENDnet TEW-740APBO2K is a pre-configured, point-to-point wireless bridge kit designed to simplify the process of linking two locations. This solution is engineered for IT professionals who need to establish reliable, long-distance network connectivity between buildings, across utility poles, or for remote surveillance camera installations where running physical Ethernet cable is impractical or cost-prohibitive. It eliminates the complex configuration typically associated with creating a wireless bridge by providing two access points that are already paired and encrypted out of the box. At its core, the kit leverages Wireless N300 technology operating on the 2.4 GHz frequency to deliver data rates up to 300 Mbps. Each unit in the kit features an integrated 10 dBi high-gain directional antenna, which is critical for focusing the wireless signal to span significant distances. This ensures a stable and performant connection for building-to-building communications. The system's strength lies in its simplicity and rapid deployment capability, drastically reducing both installation time and overall infrastructure costs. Designed for harsh environments, each access point is enclosed in a durable IP56 outdoor weather-rated housing, ensuring protection against dust and water ingress. The units are powered via included passive Power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors, which supply both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, adding flexibility to installation locations up to 60 meters from a power source. This kit provides multiple operational modes, including Access Point (AP) and Wireless Distribution System (WDS), offering versatility for various networking scenarios.
