Overview
The ASUS ExpertWiFi EBG19P is a Gigabit PoE+ VPN wired router designed for small businesses and professional network deployments. It combines wired routing, Power over Ethernet, network segmentation, and security management in a compact device. Its multi-WAN capabilities support flexible internet connectivity, while its PoE+ ports can power compatible network devices such as access points.
Connectivity and Network Management
The EBG19P provides one dedicated Gigabit WAN port and eight Gigabit LAN ports, including two configurable WAN/LAN ports. This arrangement supports flexible network configuration, including additional WAN connections for load balancing and failover. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 port is also available for supported connectivity and backup-WAN configurations.
The router supports VLAN configuration to separate network traffic and provides centralized management of compatible ASUS ExpertWiFi devices through a web browser or the ASUS ExpertWiFi mobile app.
PoE+ Power Delivery
Eight PoE+ ports provide power to compatible Ethernet-connected devices. ASUS lists a total PoE power budget of up to 123 W. Actual power allocation depends on the connected devices and the available power budget.
Security and VPN
The EBG19P includes business-oriented security capabilities such as ASUS AiProtection Pro, intrusion prevention, Safe Browsing, and VPN functionality. Supported VPN and network configuration options can help businesses protect traffic and connect separate locations, depending on the selected configuration and supported features.
Key Features
- Eight Gigabit LAN ports with PoE+ support and a total listed PoE power budget of up to 123 W.
- Multi-WAN connectivity with one dedicated Gigabit WAN port and two configurable WAN/LAN ports.
- VLAN support for separating wired and wireless network traffic.
- VPN and ASUS AiProtection Pro security features for business network management.
- USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity with support for compatible backup-WAN configurations.
Applications
The EBG19P can serve as a central wired router for offices, retail locations, clinics, hospitality businesses, and small commercial networks. Its PoE+ capability can simplify deployment of compatible access points and other powered Ethernet devices. Multi-WAN configuration can be useful where a business requires more than one internet connection.
DC Supplies Product Note
Before connecting multiple PoE devices, calculate their combined power requirements and keep the total within the router's 123 W listed PoE budget. For multi-WAN deployment, confirm which Ethernet ports will be assigned to WAN duties because the two configurable WAN/LAN ports may be used for either role.
