Eaton P136-06N-HDV-4K DisplayPort Multiport Adapter 4K HDMI
Overview :
The Eaton P136-06N-HDV-4K is a passive DisplayPort to multi-interface video adapter designed to connect a single DisplayPort source to HDMI, DVI-D, or VGA displays. It is deployed by IT engineers, AV technicians, and field support teams who require a universal interface adapter for mixed display environments. The device eliminates the need to carry multiple single-interface adapters during deployment and troubleshooting tasks.
From a technical deployment perspective, the adapter supports DisplayPort 1.2 input and provides three output interfaces: HDMI, DVI-D, and HD15 (VGA). HDMI output supports resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 24/30 Hz, while DVI supports up to 1920 × 1080 and VGA supports up to 1920 × 1200. The unit operates as a passive adapter and requires a DP++ (dual-mode DisplayPort) source to function correctly.
This adapter is typically deployed at the edge layer in user workstations, conference rooms, classrooms, and temporary AV setups. It is commonly used with laptops, tablets, and mobile workstations where a single DisplayPort output must support multiple display types depending on the environment. The integrated short cable (approximately 6 inches) reduces strain on the host port and allows flexible positioning.
Integration is straightforward within DisplayPort ecosystems that support DP++ signaling. The adapter requires no external power, drivers, or software, enabling plug-and-play operation across standard operating systems. It is compatible with HDMI, DVI, and VGA display infrastructures, making it suitable for mixed-generation display deployments without requiring active signal conversion hardware.
In a practical deployment scenario, a field engineer can connect a laptop with DisplayPort output to different display types in meeting rooms or data center staging areas without changing adapters. It is also commonly used in service kits where compatibility across legacy VGA projectors and modern HDMI displays is required.
This device should not be used in environments where the source does not support DP++ output, as passive conversion will fail. It is also not suitable for long-distance signal transmission or high refresh-rate 4K (60 Hz) applications, where active adapters or dedicated video extenders are required.
