Overview
The Ubiquiti EP-24V-72W is an EdgePower 24V DC power supply with UPS functionality, dual 24V passive PoE outputs, and Ethernet management. It accepts universal 100–240V AC input and provides a 24V, 3A DC output.
Power and UPS Operation
The EdgePower provides up to 72W of output power from its AC/DC power supply. A DC terminal block accepts an optional 12V lead-acid battery for backup operation. When AC power is interrupted, the connected battery can provide continuous power through the EdgePower.
Only one power source is used at a time. When both AC and battery inputs are connected, the AC input is used and the battery serves as the backup source.
Ethernet and Passive PoE
Two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports provide Ethernet connectivity and can be configured for 24V passive PoE output. The PoE outputs use pins 4 and 5 positive and pins 7 and 8 negative. Passive PoE is disabled by default and can be enabled through the EdgePower configuration interface.
Management
The EP-24V-72W provides in-band Ethernet management for monitoring status and power consumption and configuring network and 24V passive PoE settings. It can also be managed through UISP for remote configuration, monitoring, firmware upgrades, and backups.
