The APC SRT72RMBP is an external rackmount battery pack engineered to extend the runtime of APC Smart‑UPS On‑Line 2.2 kVA systems that use a 72 V battery architecture. It is deployed by IT operations and data center teams to provide additional DC backup capacity during utility power outages, enabling orderly shutdowns and protecting servers, storage, and networking gear.

This unit uses sealed lead‑acid (VRLA) battery technology with a nominal 72 V DC output, matching the internal battery bus of compatible Smart‑UPS SRT 2.2 kVA rackmount UPS models. The design supports predictable runtime scaling when coupled to the UPS battery connector and communicates via the UPS management interface for health and capacity reporting.

Designed as a 2U rackmount module that fits standard 19″ cabinets, the SRT72RMBP integrates mounting brackets and installation guides to facilitate secure attachment adjacent to the UPS.
